Who the service is for

This service supports older people and people with physical disabilities who are living in their own homes, including people living with dementia and end of life care. At the time of the inspection, 24 people were being supported with the regulated activity.

We carried out this assessment on 18 August 2026. This service was previously rated as good. We carried out this assessment to confirm whether the rating of good remains accurate. This report does not provide detailed information on areas where we found practice continues to meet a good standard. Instead, our findings focus on any areas where the service needs to improve or where we found exceptional practice.

The provider is also the registered manager and both role descriptions are used within the report.

Systems were in place to safeguard people from the risk of abuse. Staff received safeguarding training. Staff demonstrated a good understanding around safeguarding. We checked and found that staff and management worked within the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA). People were not subject to unlawful or excessive restrictions they had choice control and freedom over their lives.

Staff told us they received regular training and updates to enable them to meet people’s care and support needs. Staff had extra training when needed, for example following a change in equipment being used to assist someone’s mobility, staff received face to face training to ensure they could use the equipment safely.

People’s care was provided in a person centred way. Staff respected people’s choices and values and were respectful when providing care in people’s homes. Staff supported people to maintain as much independence as possible whilst ensuring they remained safe. As well as meeting people’s care and support needs, staff offered emotional support to people and their families. People were treated equally ensuring they received equitable care, support without disadvantage or discrimination.

Many staff had worked at Country Carer’s for several years and told us they enjoyed working for the service. People confirmed they received care from a consistent staff team who knew them and their needs well.

People had the opportunity to share their views and provide feedback during spot checks, home visits and also by completing questionnaires and feedback surveys. People and relatives told us they would feel comfortable raising any issues or concerns if they arose and would speak to staff visiting them or call the office. Feedback was positive regarding office staff and people felt their requests were listened to and actioned promptly.

Staff supported people when they had appointments or during a stay in hospital and liaised with other health professionals when required. Care plans and risk assessments were in place and all staff had access to these via mobile devices. Staff told us they felt the care plans supported them and provided all the information they needed during visits to people. Staff completed daily notes to document care provided.

The positive culture and values of the service were supported by leaders who demonstrated these at all times. Audits and reviews were regularly completed by management and senior staff to identify any areas for improvement. The registered manager/provider also carried out home visits and was an active part of care delivery. This enabled them to maintain a clear oversight of how people’s care was being delivered and support staff.

Staff told us they felt supported by the registered manager and senior staff. One told us “It is a good company and they are very caring, they care about the staff, which is important. You are more of a person than a number which is important. It is nice when someone appreciates what you do and they do give you thanks. Makes a real difference. I have worked for a few agencies and this is by far the best.”
