This was the first inspection of the service since registering with the Care Quality Commission on 12 February 2025.
We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ (RSRCRC) guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
We found the provider mostly met the principles of Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture. Care plans were not always fully person-centred, as some information was not relevant to people's current care and support needs. However, there was evidence that staff used the least restrictive approaches and listened to people's preferences and choices when providing support.
We found a breach of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulation relating to good governance. Some care records contained missing or out-of-date information, and checks carried out by managers had not identified these concerns.
Following feedback during the assessment, the provider had begun to address some of the issues identified. The provider has also been asked to produce an action plan explaining how these issues will be addressed.
People were supported in line with their assessed needs and staff demonstrated the skills and competencies required to provide safe care. People were supported to participate in meaningful activities, maintain important relationships and access their local communities. However, care records were not always updated promptly to reflect changes in people's needs and support arrangements.
Staffing capacity was sufficient to ensure people's needs were met in a safe way, and people benefited from a consistent staff team.
Staff feedback was positive. Staff told us management were approachable and supportive, concerns were acted upon appropriately, and staffing arrangements were sufficient to meet people's needs.
Staff consistently described a person-centred culture and demonstrated an understanding of the importance of treating people with kindness, dignity and respect. They told us people were involved in decisions about their care, their preferences were respected, and their independence was promoted wherever possible.
