The service demonstrated a strong culture of safety and continuous learning. Staff were well trained and supported, with robust induction, regular refresher training and competency assessments to ensure they could meet people's needs effectively. This included, for example, training and competency checks in medicines management, safeguarding, dementia care, moving and handling, and person-centred care.
Staff worked seamlessly with health and social care professionals to coordinate care, support safe transitions and prevent deterioration. People and relatives consistently praised the reliability of care, responsiveness of staff and quality of communication.
Leaders fostered an open, learning culture where innovation, reflection and continuous improvement were embedded. Effective governance and quality assurance systems drove high standards of care and positive outcomes. They were effective in identifying areas for improvement. Audits highlighted that staff supervision had not always been completed in line with the provider's policy. Leaders had recognised this shortfall and implemented an action plan to strengthen oversight and ensure supervisions were completed consistently. This demonstrated a proactive and responsive approach to governance, with audit findings used to drive improvement and support sustained quality of care.
