We assessed the service against 'Right support, right care, right culture' guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.

Governance systems in place were robust. Regular audits were being carried out and were in place to help ensure people’s safety and wellbeing was maintained. Care plans and risk assessments were being assessed and routinely reviewed, and people were involved in their care planning.

People were supported by experienced and trained staff and there was good continuity of care at the service. People received person-centred care and the provider promoted a person-centred culture. Staff treated people with respect and promoted people’s independence and dignity. Staff understood their responsibility to report any safeguarding concerns and were supported by a responsive and open management team who fostered an open culture. The service worked collaboratively with other healthcare agencies to ensure people received the appropriate care and support they required.

People received their medicines as required and infection prevention and control processes were managed accordingly. People’s communication needs were documented.

Leadership across the service was effective, visible and inclusive.
