What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 4 June 2026 (assessment visit 9 April 2026). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
Date of assessment 16 to 21 April 2026. Pleasant Home Healthcare Limited is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care support to people in their own homes. At the time of the assessment there were 21 people receiving the regulated activity of personal care. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) only regulate the service received by people with ‘personal care’.
Care plans were in place for each person. People were involved in deciding what support they needed and where required, had their families involved in those conversations. The plans detailed people’s support needs and included the actions staff were required to take to maintain people’s safety and independence. The plans were well written with information about the lives people had led as well as things which were important to them now.
Risk assessments were in place for each person and for their home environments which helped to keep people and the staff safe. The staff had a good understanding of people’s needs and knew about the support required to keep them safe.
Systems were effective and learning was embedded. People were consistently supported in a responsive and safe way. Staff were able to tell us about actions they would take in managing and reporting risks emerging through the course of their work.
The service was caring. People told us staff were very caring and they felt they were treated with dignity and respect by staff who they had got to know well.
The staff we spoke with told us about the relationships they had with people they supported which had, in some cases developed over several years. Staff spoke with kindness and compassion about people who clearly mattered to them.
The provider worked alongside other professionals when required to do so. They referred people to a variety of different health services depending upon the particular need and kept people and their families involved throughout.
The provider listened to people and sought regular feedback on an ad-hoc basis as well as a more formal, annual survey to seek the views of people. We saw many positive comments in feedback the provider had received and where suggestions were made to improve the service, the registered manager incorporated these into their service improvement plans.
The providers governance systems ensured checks were carried out on areas such as staff performance and the records in place to monitor people’s care. Spot checks were carried out regularly to ensure people were receiving the care they needed.
The provider created an open culture where staff felt safe to raise concerns. They spoke highly of both the registered manager and deputy manager and told us they felt the managers would be there at any time should they need support.
