What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 4 August 2026 (assessment visit 17 June 2026). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
We assessed HomeCare Reablement Service between 29 June 2026 and 7 July 2026. The service delivered good reablement outcomes and supported people to regain independence through structured, time‑limited support of up to 6 weeks.
The service provided short‑term, goal‑based support following illness, injury or hospital discharge and followed a defined pathway that included referral screening, assessment, goal setting, review and discharge. At the time of the assessment, 34 people received support.

We gathered feedback from people using the service, their relatives and professionals, and spoke with the registered manager, coordinators, assessors and reablement workers.
The service supported people to improve independence in mobility, personal care and daily living skills. Records showed staff agreed outcome‑focused goals with people and reviewed progress regularly. Staff reduced support as people gained confidence and ability in daily activities. Staff worked with occupational therapists, physiotherapists and other professionals to support rehabilitation and safe discharge.
People described positive experiences of care. Feedback showed staff were kind, flexible and responsive, particularly following hospital discharge. People said staff listened to them, involved them in decisions and provided reassurance and encouragement.
Staff described a positive and supportive culture. Teams worked collaboratively and communication supported consistent care delivery. Leaders were visible and approachable, and staff reported feeling supported in their roles.
Systems were in place to support care delivery, including structured assessments, supervision and multidisciplinary working. However, governance did not always provide consistent oversight. Training systems did not consistently identify gaps in mandatory training or provide clear oversight of staff competence.
The provider identified these issues and took action. Managers reviewed training records and booked staff onto required training, with further sessions planned to improve compliance.
Overall, the service supported people to achieve positive outcomes and demonstrated a strong reablement focus.
