Key findings
We carried out this assessment on 14 to 24 September 2026. This service was previously rated as good. We carried out this assessment to confirm whether the rating of good remains accurate. This report does not provide detailed information on areas where we found practice continues to meet a good standard. Instead, our findings focus on any areas where the service needs to improve or where we found exceptional practice.
We checked whether the service was working within the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005. We found that staff and leaders worked within the MCA. People were not subject to unlawful or excessive restrictions; they had choice, control and freedom over their lives. We saw communication was considered within mental capacity assessments to ensure people were able to fully participate in any decisions requiring support.
People were supported by enough staff who had the skills and knowledge to support them safely. Staff spoke positively about the support they received from leaders, which empowered them to deliver compassionate, person-centred care and achieve exceptional outcomes for people. The service had a robust and well-planned induction programme that supported staff to develop the skills, knowledge and values needed to deliver high quality care. New staff were given time to get to know people, understand their preferences and build meaningful relationships before working independently.
Medicines were administered safely by trained and competent staff who understood people's individual needs. One staff member told us, “There are spot checks done and there is an assessor that observes us. There are medicine administration records that get reviewed and signed off.”
The provider fostered a culture where people felt safe, listened to, and supported. Open and honest communication was encouraged, respected and valued. People and staff had confidence that any concerns would be addressed promptly. Opportunities to feedback about the service and care were provided.
The service benefited from strong and effective leadership that promoted a culture of openness, learning and continuous improvement. Managers were highly visible and approachable, ensuring people, relatives and staff felt listened to and supported. Clear governance arrangements, combined with proactive oversight, enabled the service to maintain high standards of care and respond quickly to changing needs. One staff member commented, “I think it is really good company. I would recommend for anyone to work for us really. It is more on a personal level, and we can see clients that have gone from being self-sufficient to having barriers put in place by their condition and we are there to remove these barriers. It is a very rewarding job.”
