What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 18 February 2025 (assessment visit 28 October 2024). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
Date of Assessment: 7 January to 20 January 2025. The service is a Domiciliary Care Agency (DCA) registered to provide personal care. People were supported with their personal care needs to enable them to live in their own homes and promote their independence. At the time of the inspection the service supported 21 people with personal care. At our last inspection the service was in breach of regulation regarding processes for checking the quality of care. The service had made improvements and was no longer in breach of regulation. The provider now had effective quality monitoring systems in place to identify and drive improvements. Managers investigated incidents and followed up on any actions to maintain people’s safety in their own home.Staff assessed and mitigated risks. Care plans guided safe practice. People were confident staff would arrive as expected, stay for the agreed amount of time, and knew how to safely support them. People received their medicines as prescribed by trained staff. If errors were identified the provider had processes in place to minimise the potential for reoccurrence. Staff were safely recruited. People’s assessments took account of their preferences and communication styles. People were encouraged to refer themselves for additional healthcare services if there was a change in their care needs. People’s care plans were updated when required. People were actively engaged in decisions about their care and treatment to enable them to give informed consent. When it was needed the management team involved those important to people in decisions to promote people’s best interests. People had their dignity and privacy respected by staff who promoted their independence. People knew how to give feedback and were confident the service took it seriously and acted on it. The management team was visible, knowledgeable and supportive, helping staff develop in their roles. People were supported by staff who felt valued by the management team.
