Read the rest of CQC's summary
At the time of this assessment, 5 people were receiving support from the service, however, only 1 person was in receipt of personal care. Because not everyone requires assistance with tasks like personal hygiene and eating, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) only inspects the elements where personal care is delivered. However, where personal care is provided, CQC also evaluates the wider social care support.
This was our first comprehensive inspection of the supported living service registered 1 April 2025.
We have assessed the service against the Care Quality Commission (CQC) ‘Right support, Right care, Right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choice, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
Right Support: Staff empowered people to maximise their choice, control, and independence. By focusing on personal strengths, staff helped people make their own day-to-day decisions and lead fulfilling, meaningful lives. This approach ensured people were supported in the least restrictive way possible and always in their best interests, fully backed by the service's policies.
Right Care: The service put person-centred care first. People actively designed their own care packages so they could stay in control of their daily lives. The registered manager and staff lived these values every day and always respected people's choices. This approach helped everyone achieve positive outcomes.
Staff were warm, helpful, and polite. Their daily conversations with people were always cheerful and respectful. The team worked hard to protect everyone's privacy and dignity. They also maintained a safe, trusted environment that protected people from any risk of abuse.
Right Culture: The culture across leaders, staff, and people was open and inclusive. Staff enjoyed their roles, which fostered positive relationships with the people they supported. Because the workforce was well-trained, people consistently received a standard of care that met their individual needs and wishes.
The team placed people's rights, needs, and preferences at the heart of daily practice. To maintain this high standard, the registered manager regularly evaluated the quality of support. They actively involved the individual, their family, and external professionals in these reviews. A shared passion united the registered manager and staff to help people reach their full potential. Staff spoke highly of the support they received from the wider management team. They praised the registered manager for being highly visible and always accessible for advice or guidance.
Safety was also central to the service, especially around medicine management. Staff completed mandatory training and regular competency checks before administering any medication. Additionally, robust recruitment systems ensured all staff were thoroughly vetted and suitable to work with vulnerable adults.
