What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 10 November 2025 (assessment visit 10 September 2025). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
Date of Assessment: 25 September 2025 to 15 October 2025. The service is a care home providing support to up to 5 people with a learning disability and autistic people. There were 4 people living at Maple House at the time of our assessment.
An assessment has been undertaken of a specialist service that is used by autistic people or people with a learning disability. We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
Right support: The model of care and setting maximised people’s choice, control and independence. Risks were assessed to help keep people safe. People and those important to them were involved in assessments and reviews. People were supported to be independent, and to access leisure activities aligned with their interests and goals.
Right care: Care was person-centred and promoted people’s dignity, privacy and human rights. People were treated kindly and respectfully by staff, who understood their communication needs. People were reassured when experiencing distress or anxiety to help them feel safe and calm.
Right culture: The ethos, values, attitudes and behaviours of leaders and care staff ensured people using services led confident, inclusive and empowered lives. Since the last inspection, a new manager had taken over at the service and had applied to the CQC to become the registered manager. The previous registered manager continued to support the service as an operational manager. Systems and processes were established and operated effectively to provide safe, good quality care.
