What inspectors found

From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 19 November 2025 (assessment visit 10 September 2025). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.

Date of Assessment: 30 September 2025 to 24 October 2025. The service is a care home providing support to up to 5 people with a learning disability and autistic people. There were 5 people living at Maple Manor at the time of our assessment. We carried out this assessment to check for improvements since we last inspected.

An assessment has been undertaken of a specialist service that is used by autistic people or people with a learning disability. We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.

Right support: The model of care and setting maximised people’s choice, control and independence. Staff carried out risk assessments to help support people to be safe, whilst still maintaining their independence. People were able to achieve their own ambitions and goals. Some improvements were required to ensure a consistently safe service, by mitigating potential risks. The registered manager acted on our feedback straight away.

Right care: Care was person-centred and promoted people’s dignity, privacy and human rights. Staff were kind and compassionate, and treated people in a warm and open way. The support provided was aligned with national best practice guidance for supporting people with a learning disability and or autistic people.

Right culture: Within the service itself, the ethos, values, attitudes and behaviours of leaders and care staff ensured people using services led confident, inclusive and empowered lives. We received positive feedback about the registered manager, and systems and processes were established to provide good oversight. However, the registered manager had been asked by the provider to support another location as well as Maple Manor. This meant management oversight and resources had been diverted from Maple Manor. This did not demonstrate the provider had a strategic and well planned approach to ensuring consistency and stability, directly impacting on direction and culture of the service.
