What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 7 May 2024 (assessment visit 21 March 2024). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
Bull Point House & Annex ( referred to as Bull Point House in this report) is a residential care home providing care and support to younger adults. An off site assessment took place between the 25 March 2024 and the 5 April 2024. We reviewed the well-led key question focusing on Governance, management and sustainability. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. At this assessment, we looked at aspects of how the service met these principles. At our last inspection, this service was rated good. Following this assessment, the service remains rated good.

Well-led
Good
There were clear and effective governance, management and accountability arrangements in place and staff understood their role and responsibilities. The staff were supported to meet people’s needs. Any accidents or incidents were reported, recorded and action was taken to help reduce re-occurrence. There were robust audit systems and processes in place to give the provider good oversight of the quality of the service provided. For example, staff were well supported and provided with appropriate training. People, their relatives, staff and external healthcare professionals were asked for their views and experiences of the service provided by Bull Point House in a variety of ways to help ensure everyone was included. For example, collecting verbal and non-verbal responses and supporting people to respond in ways that enabled them to take part in the survey. Feedback was positive from everyone.
