What inspectors found

From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 30 August 2024 (assessment visit 12 July 2024). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.

Date of assessment 16 July to 5 August 2024 This inspection was prompted because of the length of time since the previous inspection and notifications received from the provider in respect of the development and deterioration of pressure related wounds. We looked at 3 key questions and 4 quality statements during this assessment. At the last inspection in September 2018 the service was rated Good. At this inspection we found the service continued to be Good. Management oversight systems were in place to monitor the service. These had identified where improvements were required in respect of care plans and risk assessments and the registered manager had a plan to address this. Where accidents and incidents occurred, systems were followed to investigate and reduce the likelihood of repeat events.

  1. Safe

    Good

We assessed two quality statements in the safe key question.

There was a positive open culture in which concerns about safety were listened to, safety events investigated and reported thoroughly, and lessons learnt to identify where improvements were required. Although risk assessment documentation had not always been updated to reflect changes in the way people’s risk were managed, the actions in place were appropriate.

  2. Effective

    Good

We assessed 1 quality statement in the effective key question.

People or family members and other professionals were involved in the preservice and ongoing assessment of needs. Care plans were then developed from assessment information. People were happy with the way care was provided.

  3. Well-led

    Good

We assessed 1 quality statement within the well-led key question.

Systems were in place to monitor quality, with learning and action taken to address any shortfalls. People, family members and external health and social care professionals told us the service was well led.
