What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 28 August 2024 (assessment visit 3 April 2024). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
Date of assessment 10 April to 18 April 2024. We completed this assessment in response to information of concern relating to incidents at the service. At this inspection we found improvements had been made to risk management and governance. There were enough staff to meet people's needs safely. Staff understood how to minimise risks to people’s safety and raise concerns if things were wrong. Where needed, people were referred to other services and professionals for health and social care support. However, further improvements were needed in the oversight of staff training, and to the systems set up to keep people safe, as these were not yet fully embedded by the service.

Safe
Good
Improvements had been made to how the provider worked to keep people safe. Although staff had not always completed their training, they were able to recognise the signs of abuse and what actions they would take as a response to potential abuse. Risks to people were assessed and plans put in place to reduce them. The staff worked with other services where people needed additional support from other health professionals. Regular checks were carried out on the maintenance of the building equipment. There was not always enough staff to adequately meet people's needs when they needed it sometimes meaning people had to wait for longer periods of time before receiving support.

Well-led
Good
Governance and oversight systems had improved since the last inspection. Leaders had been working with the local authority to improve the standard of care and staff reported an improved culture. Systems were in place to monitor safety and quality at the service. However, some improvements were required to ensure these systems were used effectively to identify areas for improvement.
