What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 9 April 2024 (assessment visit 28 February 2024). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
Cedar Court is a care home for people with learning disabilities and/or autism. On the day of our off site assessment there were 13 people living at the service. This assessment activity began on the 28 February 2024 and ended on 21 March 2024. We looked at 1 key question; Well led, and 1 quality statement; Governance, management and sustainability. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. At this assessment we looked at some aspects of how the service met these principles. People in care homes receive accommodation and nursing or personal care as single package under one contractual agreement. At our last inspection this service was rated good. Following this assessment the service remains rated good.

The registered manager and two directors of the service met with us in an on-line meeting on 20 March 2024 having previously provided specific information to CQC. This information was reviewed and we were assured the registered manager had good oversight and governance systems and processes in place. The service monitored staffing levels and was advertising for one vacant post. Many staff had worked at the service for many years. Staff were well supported to meet people’s needs, with training and support which was regularly reviewed. There were good audit systems in place to give the provider effective oversight of the service provided. There was regular monitoring of risk assessments and any changes in people's needs. People, their relatives, staff and external healthcare professionals were asked for their views and experiences of the service provided by Cedar Court.
