Bearwood Nursing Home is a residential care home providing personal and nursing care to 51 people aged 65 years and over at the time of the inspection. The service can support up to 63 people in one adapted building over two floors. Ground floor is for people who have nursing needs and first floor provides support for those living with dementia. People have individual bedrooms.

We found the following examples of good practice:
Bearwood Nursing Home ensured current government guidelines in relation to COVID-19 were being followed by staff and visitors to reduce the risk of infection to people living at the home. This included comprehensive checks for visitors on arrival.
The infection control policy was up to date. We reviewed audits which reflected actions had been taken to maintain the standards within the home.
Staff were adhering to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines and extra PPE locations had been set up near to the resident's room.
The managers of the home held regular staff meetings during the pandemic and summarised the latest guidance into bullet points to ensure all staff were up to date with COVID-19 legislation.
