What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 27 May 2025 (assessment visit 9 April 2025). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
Date of Assessment: 8 April to 22 April 2025. The service is a residential care home providing support to older people, some of whom are living with dementia. The inspection was prompted in part by notification of an incident following which a person using the service died. This incident is subject to further investigation by CQC as to whether any regulatory action should be taken. As a result, this inspection did not examine the circumstances of the incident.

However, the information shared with CQC about the incident indicated potential concerns about the management of risk of falls and medicines management. This inspection examined those risks.
Some aspects of medicines management were in need of improvement; concerns raised as part of this assessment were promptly addressed by the registered manager. Some healthcare professionals had raised concerns about staffing levels and information about people’s care needs being shared. Staff were able to address any concerns openly; these were listened to and actions taken. For example, an additional member of staff was due to start work to enable staff to have more time to deliver care. The home provided a safe environment for people; risks were identified, assessed and managed well. Staff completed safeguarding training and knew how to protect people from the risk of harm. Governance systems were effective in identifying any areas for improvement. Staff felt supported by the management team.
