We found the following examples of good practice.
● There was an alternative entrance into the home for essential visitors/healthcare professionals. This enabled visitors to safely put on and take off personal protective clothing. ● Staff changed their clothes upon starting and finishing their shifts to reduce the risk of cross infection. ● The top floor of the home could be used, if required, to isolate people safely during the pandemic. ● People were supported by staff to stay safe when they went out, for example, going shopping. ● All beds were water-resistant, anti-bacterial and flame retardant. This meant beds could be cleaned and disinfected effectively to reduce risk of infection.
