At this inspection, we found people received good, consistent care from staff who understood their needs and responded appropriately. People and their relatives spoke positively about the support provided and told us they felt safe and reassured. We saw staff knew people well, adapted care in response to changes in need, and worked collaboratively to support people’s wellbeing.

Care was delivered in a safe and organised environment. Systems were in place to support the day to day running of the service, and staff carried out regular checks across key areas such as medicines, infection prevention and control, and the home environment. Where people’s needs changed or risks emerged, staff took prompt action, including seeking input from healthcare professionals and adjusting care to maintain safety and stability.

Leaders were visible and involved in the service. They understood the day to day operation of the home and were responsive when concerns arose. Staff described a supportive team culture and told us they were able to seek advice and raise concerns when needed.

The provider had also made improvements in a range of areas, including strengthening oversight processes and responding to feedback. However, these systems were not yet fully developed or consistently embedded across the service. While information about incidents, care and feedback was collected, it was not always brought together in a way which provided clear oversight or supported longer term learning and improvement.

This meant although people experienced safe and responsive care on a day to day basis, systems to fully support consistent oversight, learning and sustained improvement were still developing. The provider had begun to address this, but further work was needed to ensure these improvements were fully established over time.

Overall, people experienced good quality care that met their needs, supported by a committed staff team. Continued development of governance and improvement systems was needed help to strengthen consistency and sustainability across the service.
