This was a routine assessment carried out between 11 June and 25 June 2026, including site visits on 11 and 12 June 2026. The assessment reviewed how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led the service was. During the assessment, we spoke with people using the service, their relatives and staff at different levels. We also reviewed care records, policies, audits and other documentation and observed care.

Overall, we found the provider had systems and processes in place to support the delivery of safe, effective, caring and responsive care. Staff worked well with healthcare professionals, knew people well and adapted the care they provided to meet people's individual needs.

However, we identified areas where improvements were needed. Some care planning documentation; Mental Capacity Act records and risk assessments were not always complete or sufficiently detailed. Mandatory training compliance had been low in several key areas, although the provider took action after the assessment to improve completion rates. We also identified outstanding fire safety actions and found governance processes had not always identified or addressed issues promptly.

The provider had a clear vision for the future, including plans to develop the service. However, further work was needed to strengthen governance, quality assurance and oversight to support continuous improvement. Throughout the assessment, the provider and management team were open and responsive to feedback, took immediate action to address some concerns and provided assurance that further improvements were underway.
