What inspectors found

From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 13 January 2026 (assessment visit 9 December 2025). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.

Date of assessment: 16 December 2025 to 30 December 2025. The service is a residential and nursing home providing support to older people and younger adults, some of whom were living with dementia or had nursing needs. The service can provide care for up to 49 people, at the time of the inspection a total of 27 people were supported. The care home is purpose-built and comprises of 3 floors. However, at the time of the inspection the lower ground floor area, consisting of 10 bedrooms and associated communal areas, was not in use. The provider told us they were in the process of reviewing how they would operate that part of the care home and the types of care needs which could be safely supported there.

The service had been rated as ‘Requires Improvement’ at their previous inspection (report published 16 September 2025). The provider had been in breach of the legal regulations in relation to the governance of the service, safe care and treatment, and notifying the Care Quality Commission (CQC) about incidents. We had issued the provider with a warning notice on 13 August 2025 which told the provider the improvements we expected them to make.

This unannounced inspection was carried out by one inspector to check whether the required improvements had been made. Improvements were found, the warning notice had been complied with, and the provider was no longer in breach of regulations.

The provider now had a good learning culture, and managers investigated incidents thoroughly. People were protected and kept safe. Staff understood and managed risks. The facilities and equipment met people’s needs, were clean and well-maintained and any risks mitigated. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience.

Managers made sure staff received training and regular appraisals to maintain high-quality care. Staff managed medicines well and involved people in planning any changes where appropriate.

Leaders and staff had a shared vision based on listening, learning and trust. Leaders were visible, knowledgeable and supportive, helping staff develop in their roles. There was a culture of continuous improvement.
