People were supported by caring staff who took the time to get to know them and understand how they liked care and support to be delivered. People were supported by a consistent team of staff. Individual risks to people were also managed safely. Care records included details of the risks to people's safety and how they were to be supported to minimise those risks. People were involved with this process.
Staff and managers understood their duty to safeguard people from abuse and protect them from harm. Staff had been trained to recognise and report the signs of abuse. Medicines were managed safely. Infection control was considered. The principles of the Mental Capacity Act were understood. The provider used an electronic call monitoring system for care visits, requiring staff to log in at the start and end of each visit. The system showed that some visits started late or were shorter than scheduled, making it difficult to confirm that all calls were completed as planned. Audits were undertaken to ensure issues identified were acted on swiftly. People's views were sought to monitor and improve the service delivery.
