We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
This focused inspection was carried out as required under our inspection programme. We assessed quality statements under the key questions of Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led and identified areas of good practice. The scores for these areas have been combined with scores from the key question ratings from the last assessment.
Care was informed by the latest evidence and best practice. People were highly valued, listened to, and well supported by the service. A proactive approach was taken to identify and meet individual care needs, which had a positive impact on people’s lifestyles and overall well-being.
Staff worked collaboratively with all agencies involved in people’s care to achieve the best outcomes and ensure effective care delivery. People were supported to provide informed consent, and staff communicated in ways that people could understand. People’s support needs were accurately reflected in their care records, ensuring staff had clear guidance to follow.
Staff were safely recruited, well trained, and competent in their roles. A family member told us, “[Staff] seem to know exactly what they’re doing. Even when someone new comes, they settle in quickly and get on with it.” There was a strong culture of continuous improvement, with staff given time and resources to explore new ideas. Staff wellbeing was a high priority for the provider, ensuring they were supported to excel in their roles. Leaders and staff shared a clear vision and a culture based on listening and learning.
