Kapital Care (UK) Limited is a domiciliary (Care at home) service that was first registered with CQC in August 2017. The service is a care at home service currently providing support to adults of all ages living with various care and support needs related to age or disability. Each person’s care was contracted from the service by local authorities or through direct payments.

The provider was previously in breach of the legal regulation 12 (Safe Care and Treatment). This was in relation to the safe management of medicines. There had also been a breach of Regulation 17 (Good Governance) in so far as oversight of the service was not robust enough to identify improvements that were needed. Improvements were found at this assessment, and the provider was no longer in breach of these regulations.

This provider is required to have a registered manager to oversee the delivery of regulated activities at this location. A registered manager is a person who has registered with the Care Quality Commission to manage the service. Registered managers and providers are legally responsible for how the service is run, for the quality and safety of the care provided and compliance with regulations. At the time of the assessment, there was a registered manager in place, the previous manager have cancelled their registration in April 2026. The new registered manager was registered by CQC just prior to this assessment commencing.

We assessed the service against ‘right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence, and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.

Theproviderhad a positive learning culture and people could raise concerns. People were protected and kept safe. Staff understood and managed risks. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. The manager ensured staff received training and regular appraisals to maintain consistent quality care.

Management and oversight of medicines had improved since our previous assessment and medicines were managed safely. Procedures had been put into place by the provider to audit medicines management and administration to ensure that any emerging concerns were addressed.

The provider had improved upon the systems in place to keep the performance of the service under review and to monitor emerging themes, such as changes to peoples’ circumstances and risks as well as management and recording of medicines.
