What inspectors found

From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 20 October 2026 (assessment visit 1 October 2026). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.

We carried out this assessment between 05 October 2026 to 09 October 2026. This assessment was undertaken due to the length of time since our last visit to the service. ICare Resource Limited provides care to people living in their own home. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is to help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. At the time of the assessment 20 people were receiving personal care.

We assessed the service against ‘right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed autistic people and people with a learning disability respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. The provider was following this guidance. They provided person-centred care and support which took account of people’s wishes. Staff assessed how each person communicated. They found ways to ensure people were able to make informed choices and could communicate their needs. People were supported to do things for themselves and be in control of their lives. People participated in the local community for activities, work and education.

There were enough staff to care for people and keep them safe. Staff undertook a range of training to help them understand about their roles and responsibilities. The registered manager assessed their skills and competencies. Staff explained they felt supported and enjoyed working at the service. People were supported by staff who had received the appropriate recruitment checks, training, and support to carry out their roles effectively.

People’s needs were assessed before support commenced, including their physical health, emotional wellbeing, and communication needs. Care was delivered in a person-centred way, and care plans were reviewed regularly to ensure they remained accurate and reflective of people’s current needs. Effective systems were in place for managing complaints, and people’s communication needs were appropriately supported.

Staff were kind, caring and supportive. They knew people well and had good relationships with people. People’s privacy was respected. People received personalised care which reflected their individual needs and respected their diversity and human rights.

There were effective systems for monitoring and improving the quality of the service. The registered manager and office staff carried out a range of audits and checks. They asked people using the service and other stakeholders for feedback.
