About the service

Blueberry Hill Care Limited is a care at home service that provides personal care and support to people living in their own homes. CQC only inspects where people are receiving the regulated activity of personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we consider any wider social care provided.

Who the service is for

The service supports adults with a range of care and support needs. Some people may be living with dementia; other people have a learning disability.

We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence, and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.

Key findings

We carried out this assessment between 29 July and 17 August 2026.

This service was previously rated as good. We carried out this assessment to confirm whether the rating of good remains accurate. This report does not provide detailed information on areas where we found that practice continues to meet a good standard.

People, relatives and staff offered positive feedback about their experiences of the service. Without exception, all feedback received gave praise for the registered manager and staff and their desire to seek feedback, involve people in their care and ensure that the support being provided met expectations.

A learning culture was evident. The provider had a system of quality checks, audits and surveys to monitor quality and safety. There was a clear commitment from all staff to learn from events and all types of feedback. People and their relatives knew how to give feedback, felt listened to and felt the provider was responsive.

People received care and support from sufficient staff who knew them well. Care visits were timely and provided by consistent staff. Systems were in place to ensure staff were recruited safely, trained and supported in their roles via supervision and spot checks.

People were in receipt of personalised care based on their assessed needs and preferences. Care plans were comprehensive and people’s involvement was evident through assessments and reviews. Risks to people’s health, safety and wellbeing were effectively managed, including any risks in people’s home environments.

Medicines were managed safely, where this was an assessed need for people. Staff knew and understood people’s health needs and were able to recognise and respond to any changes in people’s health and wellbeing.

People were supported to maintain their independence. Care plans and the feedback received demonstrated that people were supported in line with their choices and staff ensured that people gave their consent to all aspects of the care they received.

We checked and found that staff and management worked within the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) where needed. People were not subject to restrictions and had choice, control and freedom over their lives.

Staff spoke positively about the culture of the service and consistently described the registered manager and senior staff as approachable, supportive and responsive. There was a clear vision for the service which focused on providing individualised, person-centred care and a positive working culture.
