The provider was previously in breach of the legal regulation, good governance. Improvements were found at this assessment and the provider was no longer in breach of this regulation. Governance systems had been reviewed to ensure the quality and safety of the service was regularly assessed. The service delivered person centred care and supported people to access the community and activities. People had regular meetings with their keyworkers. A keyworker is a dedicated staff member assigned to support the person. The service communicated internally and with people’s families. The service looked to continually improve and enhance people’s quality of life. Changes in management had impacted the staff team and culture. A new manager was now in post. Staff had not always received regular supervision, which was being addressed.

We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We found people received care and support in accordance with the principles of this guidance.

  1. Well-led

    Good

Well-led – this means we looked for evidence that service leadership, management and governance assured high-quality, person-centred care; supported learning and innovation; and promoted an open, fair culture. At our last assessment we rated this key question requires improvement. The provider was previously in breach of the legal regulation relating to good governance. Improvements were found at this assessment and the provider was no longer in breach of this regulation. At this assessment the rating has changed to good. This meant the service was well-led and promoted high-quality, person-centred care.
