What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 15 July 2024 (assessment visit 24 April 2024). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
Date of assessment 01 May to 14 May 2024
We carried out this assessment in response to indications of risk, including the time since the last inspection.
We found that the service was keeping people safe and were proactive in involving people in managing risks relating to their own care. Positive risk-taking was promoted which contributed to people regaining skills and independence with measured and least restrictive support in place. People were happy with their care and staff felt supported in their roles. Changes to the staff structure had resulted in a slight impact to some processes as the new team became established and embedded. The service had a clear vision and plan for improvements and demonstrated an enthusiasm to learn.

Safe
Good
The service continues to deliver safe care. There are effective systems in place to ensure that concerns for abuse are reported and investigated. Incidents and accidents are recorded and learnt from. However, due to changes in staff and clinical oversight there had been shortfalls in some systems. We were assured action was being taken to achieve stability in systems whilst a new staff structure was embedded.
-
Effective
Good
The service was responsive to changing needs and people felt their care was monitored and reviewed to be supported proactively, however they did not recall being actively involved in how their care had been assessed and planned. Assessments did not always capture peoples voice and depth background information which would enhance their experience of care. We saw evidence of staff working with external professionals to support joined up and timely care. People had opportunities to exercise and keep fit and we saw that people had experienced improvements in their health and wellbeing. People were involved in their care with their consent being obtained where necessary.

Well-led
Good
There had been a change in leadership since the last inspection. his had caused some disruption and adaptation to structure and skill-set. However the provider was aware of this and taking action to promote stability in the governance. Staff wellbeing was prioritised and staff were encouraged to contribute their views within team meetings, although less so in one-to-one meetings which was being improved upon. There was a culture of encouraging equality between staff and people using the service; valuing what people could contribute to the service.
