An assessment has been undertaken of a specialist service that is used by autistic people or people with a learning disability. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee autistic people and people with a learning disability respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it.
-
Safe
Good
Incident reports were not always completed by staff when required. However, the registered manager took immediate action to address this. People were safeguarded from the risk of harm and abuse. Care plans were person-centred and current. People were supported by enough staff who were appropriately trained and well-supported by leaders.
-
Caring
Good
People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff promoted their independence; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.
-
Responsive
Good
People were in control of their care and support. Staff knew people well and supported them to follow their interests and beliefs. There were systems in place to obtain regular feedback.
