At the time of our assessment some people’s care records did not include details of the risks to their safety and how they were to be supported to minimise those risks. The registered manager took prompt action to address this concern and used their knowledge and knowledge from the staff supporting people to update records and ensure all information was captured.

Staff and managers understood their duty to safeguard people from abuse and protect them from harm. Staff had been trained to recognise and report the signs of abuse.

    Good

People received safe care. Safeguarding procedures were in place and staff had received training in safeguarding adults. Staff were knowledgeable of the risks to people’s safety and how to support them to minimise those risks. During this assessment we identified that some information about risks to people’s safety and how to support people with those risks were not recorded in their care records. As soon as this was reported to the registered manager, the care records were updated with all available information about how to provide safe care to people.

People felt safe receiving care from their care workers. People were supported by consistent care workers who knew them well. Staff rotas were planned to enable staff to have sufficient time to support people and travel between calls. Staff received regular training to ensure their skills and knowledge were up to date and enable them to provide safe care.

  2. Caring

    Good

People received a caring service from staff who listened to and respected their preferences and choices. People were in control of their care and involved in decisions about the service provided. Staff knew the people they were supporting and how they liked their care to be delivered. Staff supported people to be as independent as possible. Processes were in place to ensure people’s preferences and interests were included in their care records so this information was available to the staff supporting them.

  3. Responsive

    Good
