What inspectors found

From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 19 July 2024 (assessment visit 11 April 2024). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.

Immaculate Care Limited is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care and support to people living in their own homes. At the time of our assessment 6 older adults were using the service.

The assessment started on 1 July 2024 and ended on 12 July 2024. We did not visit the agency offices because we were able to gather all the information we needed by looking at electronic records, through meetings and phone calls. We had an online meeting with the registered manager and nominated individual (responsible person) on 12 July 2024.

We conducted the assessment to follow up concerns we identified at the last inspection. The rating for the last inspection (December 2023) was inadequate. At our inspection of December 2023, we identified breaches of Regulations relating to person-centred care, the need for consent, safe care and treatment and good governance. At this assessment we found the provider had made improvements and was no longer breaching any Regulations.

We found further improvements were needed with some records and we have discussed this with the management team, so they understand what they need to do.

  1. Safe

    No rating

There had been improvements to safe care and treatment. Risks to people's safety were appropriately managed and people received their medicines in a safe way. However, we identified further improvements were needed to some records to help make sure staff had all the information they needed to keep people safe.

There were systems to investigate and respond to accidents, incidents, and complaints. There were enough suitably trained staff to meet people's needs and keep them safe.

  2. Effective

    Good

There had been improvements to effective care. People had consented to their care and treatment. However, further information about people's communication needs and any barriers to this was needed to make sure staff always presented choices in a way people could understand and consent to.

The staff worked in partnership with others, alerting relatives and external professionals to any concerns regarding people's health or wellbeing. Staff monitored changes in people's conditions and provided appropriate care based on people's assessed needs.

The staff would benefit from more detailed information about people's healthcare conditions and how these affected them. This would enable them to provide more personalised care.

  3. Caring

    Good

People were cared for by kind, compassionate and considerate staff. People were treated as individuals. People were able to make choices about their care. Staff were well supported.

We did not assess all the quality statements within this key question. We did not identify concerns relating to these areas which we judged as being met at our last inspection.

  4. Responsive

    Good

People received personalised care which met their needs and reflected their preferences. People were provided with enough information to help them understand about the agency and their planned care. People's diverse needs were met.

  5. Well-led

    Good

There had been improvements at the service since our last inspection. The provider had systems for monitoring and improving quality and these had been effectively implemented. People using the service, their relatives and staff felt the agency was supportive and well-led.
