Date of assessment: 2 and 7 April 2025. We inspected the service as we had received concerns about the standards of care people received. We found no evidence to support these concerns, and the service performed well against the quality statements we looked at. We gathered information from people who used the service, relatives, the registered manager, deputy manager, care staff, the regional manager and from health and social care professionals who have worked with the service. We looked at a range of quality statements in Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-Led.

At this assessment we found people received safe, timely care from staff who knew them well.

Risks were comprehensively assessed prior to people using the service and regularly reviewed. Where improvements could be made to individual aspects of risk assessments, the provider was responsive to feedback.

There were sufficient staff to meet people’s needs safely, including when people’s needs changed. Staff were knowledgeable about individual needs and worked well with visiting healthcare professionals and others to ensure people received a consistency of service.

The provider was planning to introduce electronic care records systems, and we were assured about the training and oversight that was planned.

Leadership arrangements were clear, with suitable delegation of tasks and clear lines of oversight. Leaders acted on incidents and concerns, to make people safe and to learn lessons. The registered manager valued the hard work of their staff and ensured the service was well linked in with local health and social care partners, along with areas of developing good practice. They demonstrated an aptitude and desire to continually improve the service.
